The mixed bill comprises works by three world-renowned contemporary choreographers. William Forsythe, Edward Clug and Wayne McGregor are innovators, ranking among the most gifted dance creators of the present time, all of them inventors of novel, singular movement phraseology. William Forsythe is a towering figure of contemporary global dance. Blending ballet and visual arts, displaying both abstraction and forceful theatricality, he views choreography as an organisational practice.
The Second Detail is simultaneously playful and rigorous, set to an aggressively percussive score by the composer Thom Willems. Conceived in 2016 for Nederlands Dans Theater 2, in 2017
Edward Clug’s Handman was nominated for the coveted Benois de la danse accolade. Wayne McGregor is internationally renowned for trailblazing innovations in performance, integrating dance,
film, visual arts, digital technologies and natural sciences.
In EDEN | EDEN he focuses on the impact of technology on the aesthetics of the environment and the human body alike.

[ About ballet ]
If dance always delivers just what is expected, it will stagnate, lose its lustre and magnetism, and ultimately fall into oblivion. Thus may be summed up the intellectual approach of the contemporary top-class globally celebrated choreographers William Forsythe, Edward Clug and Wayne McGregor, whose works feature in a unique Czech National Ballet triptych.
